The child of today is plugged into a digital device. It is part of the life experience. How do you as a parent help them? Listed below are seven steps for you to ponder when it comes to the health of your child’s brain.

Step 1 – Using the Screen Safely

  • Less than 2 hours per day developing children
  • Zero (0) hours for infants
  • Only watch educational content on screen

Step 2 – Detox Digital Doses

  • Set aside 3 hours Free Time daily to connect as a family without being plugged in

Step 3 – For Better Sleep – Block Blue Light

  • In the afternoon and evening wear blue-blocking glasses.
  • Put your devices on “night mode” to block blue light.

    This is one of the biggest issues we have in our society. Start young with giving electronics and setting time limits to use. My husband and I did that and it was hard because all of my kids friends where on their cell phones all night.

      I agree! I have eight grandchildren, seven of whom are already hooked up to an iPhone or iPad. It is a belief that all parents and children are attached to. Setting boundaries is essential, but I believe these devices also become a babysitter for the parents. Taking all cell phones and locking them up at night might be the future alternative to raising healthy brains in our children. Hugs, LA
